One important thing all novice investors should know about stock market investing tips is that a publicly traded company may have initially sold their stock for ten dollars per share as part of their initial public offering, but then the stock increases in value to twenty dollars per share later on. This means that the investor who originally bought the shares at ten dollars per share has doubled their money. If another investor wants to buy that stock at that point in time, he or she will have to pay the twenty dollars per share that the stock is now worth.
