When abductory twist does occur?
February 19th, 2010 by admin
Each person really walks very differently. Such as some of us land harder on their heel; and some land harder on the forefoot. Some of feet roll inwards at the ankle; some feet roll outwards at the ankle. Some feet are turned out; some feet are turned in. Podiatrists look very carefully in all these sort of things when they assess someone walks. One really unusual pattern that is often looked for is something that is called an abductory twist. The abductory twist occurs as the friction is released just as the heel comes off the ground. The heel suddenly rotates inwards toward the other foot (abducts). The presence of this what we called an abductory twist usually indicates that there is some abnormal function present causing this.
